How do I forward missed calls on a Samsung Galaxy or Android phone?

On a Samsung Galaxy, open the Phone app, tap the three dots, then Settings, Supplementary services, Call forwarding, and choose Forward when unanswered (and, if you want them, Forward when busy and Forward when unreachable). Enter the answering line’s number and tap Enable. Unlike the iPhone, the phone can forward only the calls you miss from its own menu.

Samsung says availability varies by carrier and phone model, and the menu names differ by region. If the option is missing, dial your carrier’s code from the keypad (Verizon: *71 plus the number; T-Mobile: **61*1 plus the number and #). We found no official Google Pixel help page with call forwarding steps on 31 Oct 2026, and Samsung’s pages, read that day, give no cost and no ring values.

How it works

  1. Open call forwarding

Phone app > More options (three dots) > Settings > Supplementary services > Call forwarding (Samsung US). On Samsung’s Gulf page the path is Settings > Call Settings > Call Forwarding.

  2. Choose the missed-call options

Pick Forward when unanswered, then Forward when busy and Forward when unreachable. Avoid Always forward, which sends every call on.

  3. Enter the number and enable

Type the answering line’s number and tap Enable. Samsung’s Gulf page says Forward When Unanswered “redirects calls after a set number of rings”, without giving the number.

  4. Turn it off

Samsung’s US page does not say. Its Gulf page: Phone app > three dots > Settings > Call Settings > Call Forwarding > choose the option > toggle it off or tap Disable.

  5. If the menu is missing

Use your carrier’s codes from the keypad; the Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T guides give them, with what each carrier does and does not publish.

  6. Test it before you rely on it

Call your business number from another phone and let it ring without answering. The call should reach the answering line after the ring time. If you set busy forwarding, call again while the line is in use, and if you set unreachable, try once with the phone switched off.

What it costs to run

Samsung’s pages say nothing about cost: forwarded minutes are billed, or not, by your carrier. Each carrier’s guide quotes what its page says.

When it is not worth it

  • Samsung’s Gulf page says forwarding needs a stable network, a correct and active destination number, and carrier support; if your carrier does not support a condition, the menu cannot add it.
  • If you want every call to go to the answering line, Always forward does that, and the phone will not ring.

Questions

Is it the same on a Google Pixel?

We found no official Pixel help page with the steps on 31 Oct 2026. Your carrier’s codes, dialed from the keypad, are the route the carriers’ own pages describe.

Can I set how many rings?

Samsung gives no value. On T-Mobile, the code **61*1+PhoneNumber**seconds# sets 5 to 30 seconds.

How do I know it works?

Check the menu shows the number, then call your business number from another phone and let it ring.
