How does a WhatsApp assistant work for dental and aesthetic clinics in Dubai?

In Dubai, patients can write to a clinic on WhatsApp at any hour, including after reception closes. An assistant on the clinic's own WhatsApp number answers hours, location, treatments, prices and accepted insurance from information the clinic approved, offers appointment times and hands reception anything that needs a person, with a summary. It gives no health advice; that stays with the team.

The number, the Meta account and the conversations stay the clinic's. Reception keeps answering as it does today; the assistant covers what arrives after hours and the questions that repeat all day. It only answers people who wrote first.

How it works here

  1. Collect the clinic's answers

Hours, location and parking, treatments, prices the clinic is happy to share, accepted insurance and booking rules. The assistant only answers from that list.

  2. Connect the clinic's WhatsApp

Through Meta's official Cloud API, on the clinic's number and the clinic's business account. Nothing sits in the builder's account.

  3. Book or request the appointment

The assistant offers free slots, confirms the day and time and sends a reminder. If the clinic prefers, it only records the request and reception confirms.

  4. Hand over to reception

Pain, symptoms, test results, complaints or anything outside the list goes to reception with a one-line summary, and the patient gets a polite holding reply.

  5. Put the number where patients look

The WhatsApp number goes on the Google profile as well as the website, so a patient who finds the clinic on Google can start a chat. Before going live, the team tests it with real questions from the clinic.

What we measured here

Our own research in Dubai, 25 September 2026: we listed 60 businesses (30 dental clinics, 30 beauty salons) and checked their Google listings and websites. No messages were sent, so this page says nothing about reply times. No business is named.

21 of 30 clinics listed an 04 landline on Google
An 04 number is a Dubai landline, which usually is not on WhatsApp. A patient who tries to message that number cannot start a chat.
46 of the 60 businesses had a likely WhatsApp number
A wa.me link or WhatsApp button on their own website, or a UAE mobile. The number patients should use often exists, but only on the website. Put the WhatsApp number where people look, including Google.

What it costs to run here

Meta charges per delivered message; the prices below are for patients with a UAE number. Messages patients send are free. The model that writes the replies is billed separately by its provider.

When it is not worth it

  • If reception already answers every WhatsApp within minutes, including evenings and weekends, the gain is small.
  • If treatments, prices and booking rules change every week and nobody updates them, the assistant will repeat old information. Put the list in order first.

Questions

Does the assistant give health advice?

No. Any question about symptoms, pain, tests or treatment goes to the team with a summary. It answers only administrative questions the clinic approved, and it does not ask for medical details.

Can it send promotions to our patient list?

No. Promotional messages to people who did not ask are a separate, regulated matter. The assistant only answers people who wrote first.

Can it use the number the clinic already publishes?

In most cases yes, through Meta's Cloud API. We first check that the number can move without interrupting today's service.

How long until it works?

Betterlane is based in Dubai. The first flow is built free in ten days; if it does not do what was scoped, the clinic pays nothing. Running it after that is agreed before we start.
