Betterlane vs heyAnaya: an alternative for clinics in Dubai
heyAnaya is a done-for-you receptionist for UAE clinics: it answers WhatsApp, and on its top plan phone calls, in Arabic and English, books into the clinic’s calendar, sends reminders and passes anything clinical to the team. Most clinics are live in a business day, and its prices are published.
Like heyAnaya, Betterlane answers only from what the clinic approves and gives no medical advice. Unlike it, Betterlane works on written messages only, in English rather than Arabic; it also puts a chat on the clinic’s website, which heyAnaya’s pages read do not mention; and it runs in Frankfurt, Germany, with the reply model’s processing in EU data centres, where heyAnaya says patient conversations stay in the UAE. Its first flow is built free and tested against checks agreed with the clinic.
Test it before you pay
The first flow is built free in ten days, against a scope and tests we agree with you before we start. If it does not pass them, you pay nothing and keep it: it runs free for 30 more days while we fix it or you decide, then it is either paid monthly or switched off with your facts, answers and setup notes handed over.
After you say yes
Day 1 starts when your intake is back and the booking step is checked. If that slips, the date moves and we tell you the same day.
On day 9 we go through the agreed scope with you, line by line, on a 15-minute video call. A line that fails is fixed and checked again.
If it does not do what we agreed by day 10, it keeps running free for 30 days while we fix it or you decide. Then either you pay monthly, only if it now does what was agreed, or it is switched off and we hand over what is yours: the approved facts, the answers, the booking rules and a setup note any builder can follow. Nothing is invoiced for any of it.
Payment starts only if it does what was agreed and you choose to keep it running: monthly from day 11, at an amount you know before day 1. Month to month: if you stop, it is switched off.
The monthly covers hosting and usage; us reading the conversations and fixing wrong answers and bugs; changes to your hours, services and staff within 2 business days; help by email or WhatsApp within 1 business day, the same day if something is broken (business days are Monday to Friday, Dubai time, and planned absences are told to you in advance); and a short note each month. Meta’s WhatsApp fees, if any, are billed on your own Meta account.
Check it yourself
In our own test on 2 Oct 2026, we sent messages we wrote (opening hours, then a listed treatment next week in the morning) to 60 previews built from clinics’ public websites: all 60 answered with no failed or empty reply, the 48 with published hours offered two times inside them and booked the one our script picked on a test calendar, and the other 12 took a request for the team. A vaguer “first consultation” request first got times in 9 of 48; after a rule change, 46 of 48 offered times and booked. These are previews, not clinics’ live systems.
Where the data goes, in short: the assistant and its database run in the region closest to your customers (São Paulo for the Americas; London or Frankfurt for the UK, Europe or the Gulf, set up before day 1); replies are written by OpenAI’s model through Vercel’s AI Gateway with zero data retention, in US data centres, or EU ones for Europe; we do not publish a standard data processing agreement yet. If your customers’ data has to stay in one country, check this before anything else.
Betterlane and heyAnaya side by side
| Betterlane | heyAnaya | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | An agency: we build and run the assistant for the clinic | “The AI receptionist that answers your clinic’s calls and WhatsApp in Arabic and English — and books the appointment”1 |
| Who sets it up and changes it | Betterlane builds and changes it; the clinic approves the answers and the rules | Done for you: “A 15-minute setup call”, “We set up, you approve”; “Most clinics are live within one business day”3 |
| Channels | WhatsApp on the clinic’s own number and a chat on its website; no phone calls | WhatsApp on every plan; Instagram from the Advanced plan; phone calls on the WhatsApp + Voice plan2 |
| Languages | English, Portuguese and Spanish; not Arabic today | Arabic and English: “Switches to the patient’s language”1 |
| What it answers from | The facts the clinic approves (treatments, prices, hours, insurers accepted), agreed before we build; anything outside them goes to the team with a summary | “She answers only from the scripts your team approves”3 |
| Booking | Into the calendar where the clinic’s software allows it, or by sending the clinic’s booking link; otherwise it records the request for reception | “Books into your calendar”, with reminders and waitlist refills; no calendar or clinic system is named on its site1 |
| Clinical questions | Set up to give no clinical advice: clinical questions go to the team with a summary, and that is part of the tests agreed before it goes live | “Never gives medical advice. Anything clinical is escalated to your team.”3 |
| Where patient data is processed | Outside the UAE: there is no UAE region we can use, so a Dubai clinic’s assistant and database run on Vercel and Neon in Frankfurt, Germany, the nearest one, and the model that writes the replies is reached through Vercel’s AI Gateway with zero data retention and processing in EU data centres. If patient data must stay in the UAE, Betterlane is not the right choice today | Its home page says patient conversations stay “on UAE soil”; its privacy policy says “Core patient-conversation data is stored on UAE-hosted infrastructure”14 |
| How it is priced | The first flow is built free in ten days, against a scope and tests agreed before we start; if it does not do what was scoped, the clinic pays nothing and keeps it. Running it after that is agreed before we start. | Published: AED 1,500, 2,000 or 2,500 a month; setup included; month to month; 30-day money-back guarantee2 |
When each one is the better choice
- heyAnaya when you want WhatsApp answered in Arabic and English by a done-for-you receptionist this week, at a published monthly price with a 30-day money-back guarantee, and phone calls too on its WhatsApp + Voice plan; or patient data must stay in the UAE.
- Betterlane when your patients write in English, you want the assistant on your WhatsApp number and your website chat, and you want to see it pass agreed tests through the free first flow before paying anything.
What heyAnaya and Meta state
From heyAnaya’s own pricing page, read 7 October 2026 (VAT not stated; its FAQ adds that final pricing depends on the clinic’s size and call volume), and Meta’s rate card. Betterlane publishes no price: the first flow is built free, and running it afterwards is agreed before we start.

What we measured ourselves (not client work)
Our own research in Dubai, 25 September 2026: we listed 60 businesses (30 dental clinics, 30 beauty salons) and checked their Google listings and websites. No messages were sent, and no business is named.
- 46 of the 60 businesses had a likely WhatsApp number: a wa.me link or WhatsApp button on their own website, or a UAE mobile. The number patients should use often exists, but only on the website, not on Google.
Questions
Does Betterlane answer in Arabic or take phone calls like heyAnaya?
No to both, today. Betterlane’s assistant answers written messages in English, Portuguese and Spanish. If your patients phone or write in Arabic, heyAnaya fits better.
Which calendar does heyAnaya book into?
Its site says it “books into your calendar” but does not name a calendar or clinic system. Ask it which one, as you would ask us.
Do both keep to approved answers?
Yes: heyAnaya answers “only from the scripts your team approves”, and Betterlane only from the facts the clinic approves, agreed before we build.
