Betterlane vs Kommo: an alternative to Kommo for clinics that want the assistant built for them
Kommo is software the clinic’s team subscribes to and sets up. Betterlane builds and runs the assistant for the clinic: it answers only from the clinic’s approved facts, checks the calendar before offering a time, and hands anything clinical or unusual to reception with a summary. Choose Kommo when you also want a sales pipeline in the same tool, your team will build the Salesbot flows, and AI booking on the Pro plan fits your calendar.
Either way, Meta charges for WhatsApp messages separately, and the number and the Meta business account should stay in the clinic’s name.
Betterlane and Kommo side by side
| Betterlane | Kommo | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | An agency: we build and run the assistant for the business | Subscription software priced per user, with a sales pipeline, a no-code Salesbot and AI agents |
| Who builds and changes it | Betterlane builds and changes it; the business approves the answers and the rules | Your team, in the software |
| What it answers from | Only the business’s approved facts; anything outside them goes to a person with a summary | Salesbot flows and AI agents set up by your team: up to 3 on Base and Advanced, 50 on Pro |
| Booking | Checks the calendar before offering a time and confirms it, or only records the request | "AI appointment booking" on Pro and Enterprise |
| WhatsApp number | The business’s own WhatsApp number and Meta account, through Meta’s official Cloud API | 1 WhatsApp number on Base plus 1 per user; unlimited on Pro |
| How it is priced | The first flow is built free in ten days; if it does not do what was scoped, the business pays nothing. Running it after that is agreed before we start. | US$25 (Base) to US$45 (Pro) per user a month, billed for 6 months or more |
| Where it runs | On Betterlane’s server; the business keeps its number, Meta account, calendar and facts | In Kommo’s software |
When each one is the better choice
- Kommo when you also want a sales pipeline in the same tool, your team will build the Salesbot flows, and AI booking on the Pro plan fits your calendar.
- Betterlane when nobody on the team has time to build flows, answers must come only from the clinic’s facts, bookings must check the real calendar, and sensitive questions must go to reception.
What Kommo and Meta state
From Kommo’s own page, read on 30 September 2026, in US dollars, and Meta’s rate card. Betterlane publishes no price: the first flow is built free, and running it afterwards is agreed before we start.

What we ran into on our own demo clinic
From Betterlane’s own fictional demo clinic on a Meta test number, September 2026. Not a client system.
- Replies failed with error 131030 because Brazilian numbers reached the webhook without the ninth digit; the reply step had to add it back. Details like this decide whether patients get an answer at all.
Questions
Is Betterlane a Kommo alternative?
For the WhatsApp assistant itself, yes, when the clinic wants it built and run for it. Kommo also brings a sales pipeline, which Betterlane does not replace.
Can the assistant work with Kommo?
When Kommo can receive the conversations or leads the assistant hands over, yes; that is checked in the scope before we start.
Who owns the WhatsApp number?
The clinic, in both cases: the number sits in the clinic’s Meta business account.
