Betterlane vs Cloudia: a WhatsApp assistant for clinics in Brazil
Betterlane is for the clinic in Brazil that wants WhatsApp answered well without taking on another platform to operate. We build and run the assistant on the number the clinic already uses, through the official WhatsApp API, beside the management software it already has. It answers at any hour only from the clinic’s information, asks the procedure and the time of day, offers two times and hands over to the front desk with a summary. Diagnoses, prices the clinic has not given and any health question stay out of it by written rule. The first version is free, with no implementation fee: if it does not do the 5 agreed points, the clinic pays nothing.
Cloudia is a platform: it creates the clinic’s answering flow and trains the team to use the rest, with a flow builder, CRM, message hub and reports. Choose Cloudia if you want that platform in your team’s hands, with AI that understands voice notes and images and, on the Elite plan, AI booking, reminders and satisfaction surveys linked to one of the 40+ management systems it integrates with.
Test it before you pay
The first flow is built free in ten days, against a scope and tests we agree with you before we start. If it does not pass them, you pay nothing and keep it: it runs free for 30 more days while we fix it or you decide, then it is either paid monthly or switched off with your facts, answers and setup notes handed over.
After you say yes
Day 1 starts when your intake is back and the booking step is checked. If that slips, the date moves and we tell you the same day.
On day 9 we go through the agreed scope with you, line by line, on a 15-minute video call. A line that fails is fixed and checked again.
If it does not do what we agreed by day 10, it keeps running free for 30 days while we fix it or you decide. Then either you pay monthly, only if it now does what was agreed, or it is switched off and we hand over what is yours: the approved facts, the answers, the booking rules and a setup note any builder can follow. Nothing is invoiced for any of it.
Payment starts only if it does what was agreed and you choose to keep it running: monthly from day 11, at an amount you know before day 1. Month to month: if you stop, it is switched off.
The monthly covers hosting and usage; us reading the conversations and fixing wrong answers and bugs; changes to your hours, services and staff within 2 business days; help by email or WhatsApp within 1 business day, the same day if something is broken (business days are Monday to Friday, Dubai time, and planned absences are told to you in advance); and a short note each month. Meta’s WhatsApp fees, if any, are billed on your own Meta account.
Check it yourself
In our own test on 2 Oct 2026, we sent messages we wrote (opening hours, then a listed treatment next week in the morning) to 60 previews built from clinics’ public websites: all 60 answered with no failed or empty reply, the 48 with published hours offered two times inside them and booked the one our script picked on a test calendar, and the other 12 took a request for the team. A vaguer “first consultation” request first got times in 9 of 48; after a rule change, 46 of 48 offered times and booked. These are previews, not clinics’ live systems.
Where the data goes, in short: the assistant and its database run in the region closest to your customers (São Paulo for the Americas; London or Frankfurt for the UK, Europe or the Gulf, set up before day 1); replies are written by OpenAI’s model through Vercel’s AI Gateway with zero data retention, in US data centres, or EU ones for Europe; we do not publish a standard data processing agreement yet. If your customers’ data has to stay in one country, check this before anything else.
Betterlane and Cloudia side by side
| Betterlane | Cloudia | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | An agency: we build and run the assistant on the clinic’s WhatsApp, beside the management software it already uses | An “AI virtual secretary” for clinics (translated): an AI agent on WhatsApp, native CRM, message hub and reports, on a platform the clinic’s team uses12 |
| Who sets it up and runs it | Betterlane builds it, runs it and changes it, with requested changes made within 2 business days; the clinic only approves the answers and the rules. There is no dashboard or flow builder for the team to learn | “We create your clinic’s answering flow and train your team to use the platform” (translated); the team gets a “flow builder” and support on WhatsApp12 |
| On WhatsApp | Answers at any hour when no one on the team does (after hours, and during hours after 4 minutes; or every patient, if the clinic asks), only from the clinic’s information: procedures, address, hours and accepted insurance. Anything else, it says the team will answer | The AI agent “answers right away”, “leads the conversation naturally” and answers “24h a day” (translated)1 |
| Booking | Asks the procedure and the time of day the patient prefers and offers two times inside each professional’s schedule; sends the request to the front desk, which confirms. With Google Calendar, the time can be written straight in. In the management software only after we check access: we never promise an integration we have not built | “AI booking” only on the Elite plan: the AI “finds available times and books automatically” (translated); native Google Calendar integration and “via API and webhooks”24 |
| Reminders | The focus is answering whoever writes in, well. If the clinic’s software already sends reminders, it keeps sending them; if it does not, reminders and confirmations can be a next flow, agreed in writing | “Automated reminder” and “automated satisfaction survey” only on the Elite plan (translated); campaign and confirmation automations on both plans2 |
| Management software | The clinic keeps the software it uses (Clinicorp, Simples Dental, Controle Odonto, Feegow…): the assistant works beside it, with no migration and no change of calendar | “Possible integration with 40+ management systems” (translated), Clinicorp, Controle Odonto and Feegow among them23 |
| Health and prices | Never diagnoses, never says whether a treatment suits the person, never promises a result and never states a price the clinic has not given in writing. It does not ask for health data or open patient records. Pain, bleeding, swelling, allergy or trouble breathing go to a person at once; in serious cases it tells the patient to call 192 (Brazil’s ambulance) | Not stated on the pages read |
| Handover to the team | Hands over to a person, with a summary, when the patient asks, complains or mentions health; the front desk gets a note with the name, the procedure and the time asked for. When someone on the team replies in the app, the assistant stops answering that patient for 12 hours. An existing patient writing after hours gets “got it, I passed it to the front desk”, and the assistant never books or changes anything for them | “Hands over in complex cases” (translated); AI summary and reply suggestions on the Elite plan, or for R$ 100 more a month12 |
| Voice notes | Asks the patient to type the message; it does not reply by voice note | Understands voice notes and images and generates voice replies12 |
| WhatsApp number | The number the clinic already uses, through the official WhatsApp API; the number and the Meta account stay the clinic’s | The pages read do not say whether it uses the official WhatsApp API; each extra number costs R$ 200 a month2 |
| Setup | Built and run by Betterlane, with no implementation fee; live within 10 days of receiving WhatsApp Business access, each professional’s hours and the list of prices it may give | A fee “from R$ 700” (translated): kick-off meeting, account and flow setup, team training2 |
| How it is priced | The first version is free. If any of the 5 points agreed in writing does not happen, the clinic pays nothing. If it does and the clinic wants to continue, it is month to month, with no lock-in; the price is given on the call | Pro [IA] (5 agents) and Elite show no price on the plans page (“--”, “talk to sales”); a blog post of 3 Jun 2026 mentions “plans from R$ 449.90 a month” (translated); each extra agent R$ 30 a month25 |
When each one is the better choice
- Betterlane when you want the clinic’s WhatsApp answered well without anyone on the team becoming a platform operator: built and run for you, on your own number, through the official API, with 5 points written before we start (including what it never says about health and prices), no implementation fee and the first version free.
- Cloudia when you want a full platform in your team’s hands, with a flow builder, CRM, message hub, marketing reports and AI that understands voice notes, and, on the Elite plan, booking, reminders and satisfaction surveys linked to your management system. Cloudia itself says “1000+ clinics” use it (translated).
What Cloudia states
As published on Cloudia’s own pages, read 31 Oct 2026. Betterlane publishes no price: the first version is free, with no implementation fee, and the monthly price is given on the call.

Questions
What exactly is agreed in writing?
Five points, before we start: it answers when no one on the team does, only from the clinic’s information; it asks the procedure and the time of day and offers two times; it sends the front desk a note with the name, the procedure and the time; it never diagnoses, never promises a result and never states a price the clinic has not given; and it hands over to a person when the patient asks, complains or mentions health. The clinic sees the same conversations we do. If any of these points does not happen, the clinic pays nothing.
We already use Cloudia on our number. Can we switch?
Yes. A number cannot be connected to two WhatsApp APIs at once, so we check everything before connecting and agree the day of the switch. If the check does not pass, nothing is connected and nothing is charged.
Does the assistant book straight into our management software?
It offers two times inside each professional’s schedule and sends the request to the front desk, which confirms; with Google Calendar, the time can be written straight in. Booking inside Clinicorp, Simples Dental or Feegow only comes after we check the access the software gives, and is quoted separately. We never promise an integration we have not built.
